Thrombolysis in acute myocardial infarction : factors determining its efficacy
Abstract/OtherAbstract :
Insight in the mechanisms leading to acute myocardial infarction (MI) has resulted in the administration of exogenous plasminogen activator, later called thrombolytic therapy. This treatment was associated with a significant reduction in mortality and morbidity. However, success has not always been achieved due to failure to achieve reperfusion or occurrence of reocclusion. This thesis describes our studies on the factors which may determine the efficacy of thrombolytic therapy in patients with MI.
