Three cells of Ostreococcus tauri. The species was described in 1995., <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="" lang="EN-GB">Smallest known picoeucaryote (length 0.8-11 µm, width 0.5-0.7 µm). Spherical or ovoid prasinophyte, with one nucleus, one oblong chloroplast with starch grain in the centre but no pyrenoid, one mitochondrion and one Golgi body. No flagella and no body scales.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
