Science real and relevant: 2nd CSIR Biennial Conference, CSIR International Convention Centre Pretoria, 17 & 18 November 2008, Nafion nanocomposites were prepared with pure multiwalled carbon nanotubes (PMWCNTs), oxidised MWCNTs (OMWCNTs) and functionalised MWCNTs (FMWCNTs) as fillers, to investigate the effect of multiwalled carbon nanotubes on thermal stability, mechanical properties and electrical conductivity of nafion membrane for fuel cell applications. The results showed an improvement on the thermal behaviour of prepared nation nanocomposites compared to pure Nafion with an addition of only 1 wt% MWCNTs. |
