this paper we explore the use of double STN #DSTN# cells for making PCF for applications to projectors. In projectors one needs to separate white light into RGB primary colors. We demonstrate a design of green color PCF using DSTN. Quite satisfactory results can be obtained. One useful aspect of DSTN-based PCF is that the color can be tuned in principle by means of applying voltages to the LC cells to change their birefringence |
