The British Thoracic Society (BTS) was established in 1982 and membership includes medical practitioners, nurses, scientists and any professional with an interest in respiratory disease. Information is provided on the history and organisational structure of the BTS, clinical guidelines, policy briefings and press releases, details of research and educational activities, audit tools, and news about meetings and forthcoming conferences. There is also a section for patients providing authoritative information for patients on a range of respiratory diseases and treatments. There is a BTS ‘Members Only’ area of this website.
