INTRODUCTION The salmo3 fisheries oi the Alaska Peninsula have a lo43 histo38 dating back to the early 1900s. The June fisheries in the Shumagin slands and so Ix o Unimak sland, which are coI54;LxIjL; called the False Pass fishery oi Soshe Peninsula June fishery, target ot noIxx;zxI soI eye salmoW (Oncorhynchus nerka) primarily boima fo Bristor Bay (Fig. 1) (Eggers et al. 1991, 1990). No0).Ix%% chum salmo5 (O. keta) are caught by the purse seine and gillnet fleets. n recent years, the June fisheries have been restricted by quo5W; oo bo5 species.
