The Air Force Global Reach Laydown (GR1): An Allowance Standard Review Using the Estimating Supplies Program to Develop a Requirements-Based Materiel Solution
Abstract/OtherAbstract :
Objective: The primary objective of this study was to provide the Air Force with a recommended inventory that satisfies the mission and was based solely on the stated operational requirements for the GR1 clinical and preventive medicine functional. Approach: The starting point for this review was the initial GR1 technical report that served as a baseline for populating the inventory. This entailed reviewing the range of patient conditions and preventive medicine objectives listed in the baseline study. The inventory items were associated to clinical and preventive medicine tasks with the materiel required to perform those tasks. Results: This study resulted in a list of recommended line items to add to the AS thereby enhancing the GR1's capabilities. The items were recommended based on whether and how well they fulfilled mission requirements and in quantities derived from the patient stream and preventive medicine task frequencies. AS changes were derived from either Service or Joint supply solutions ensuring standardization. The study produced a weight cube and cost analysis of the inventory based on the patient stream. The recommended inventory was compared with the current AS configuration and differences in weight cube and cost totals were calculated., The original document contains color images. Task no. 9T7SDGIS006. Unit no. 60334. Prepared in cooperation with Air Force Medical Logistics Office, Ft.Detrick, MD.
