Abstract/OtherAbstract:
Hospital librarians routinely develop relationships with users and vendors as well as operate as valuable members of multidisciplinary teams, but rarely do they report working with executive level partners on a continuing basis. This can result in a lower perception of a librarian's value to the organization due to the disconnect between what librarians do on a day-to-day basis and what they could do to add strategic value to the organization. The benefits of partnerships with hospital administrators for libraries are well documented. This article will describe a successful working partnership between a medical librarian at a multihospital system and the chief learning officer and discuss its implications for others.
