PMID:  7598405     Owner:  NLM     Status:  MEDLINE
Abstract/OtherAbstract:
Twelve out of 13 clinical directors/lead consultants replied to a postal questionnaire. The mean time per week spent on directorate business was 10 (3-20) hours, but only four (33 per cent) had reduced their clinical sessions to allow for this. Only one of the respondents had received any formal management training. No director mentioned inviting junior members of staff to their directorate meetings.
