The present and future state of pediatric neurosurgery in Latin America.

After a previous review of the paper presented during the Pediatric Neurosurgery Symposium held in New York during the XV Meeting of ISPN on the situation of pediatric neurosurgery in Latin America, the present situation will be reviewed with special emphasis on economic factors, the technical gap between Latin American and First World countries, manpower, the impact of private health organization and the inclusion of pediatric neurology courses in university curricula.
