Synthetic utilization of α-aminoalkyl radicals formed by a single electron oxidation of amines is quite limited. Here, we demonstrate the addition of α-aminoalkyl radicals to electron deficient alkenes via visible light mediated an electron transfer process using transition metal polypyridyl complexes as photocatalysts. The reaction proceeds via a sequential redox pathway. |
