Two A-type proanthocyanidins, ent-epiafzelechin-(4alpha-->8, 2alpha-->O-->7)-(-)-epicatechin and its isomer, ent-epiafzelechin-(4alpha-->8', 2alpha-->O-->7')-catechin, together with other known compounds, have been isolated from the roots of Prunus armeniaca. The concerted use of one- and two-dimensional NMR methods (1H-(1)H COSY, HMQC, HMBC and NOESY) allowed the identification of these compounds. |
