Introduction. Following on from 2009's successful meeting 'Transfusion Today', the Royal College of Pathologists presented another fascinating 2-day symposium 'Transfusion Tomorrow' to consider the future impact of recent advances in transfusion medicine. Topics ranged from blood safety issues and regulation, through clinical and laboratory practice, to molecular advances in transfusion science. The meeting focussed on the evidence base for developments in clinical practice and drew in a wide cross-section of scientific, clinical and technical staff. |
