A novel nanocomposite synthesis method of amino-modified NaYF(4):Yb,Er up-conversion luminescent nanoparticles (UCNPs) and singlewalled carbon nanohorns (SWNHs) was developed via covalent linkage for the fist time. The nanocomposite was covalently coupled with rabbit anti-CEA8 antibodiy (Ab), and then used successfully as a cell labeling agent for the immuno-labeling and imaging of HeLa cells.
