I enjoyed reading Professor Ludbrook's recent paper, Should we use one-sided or two-sided P values in tests of significance?(1) I appreciated his kind reference to the guidelines Dale Benos and I wrote for journals published by the American Physiological Society.(2) , I concur with Ludbrook's arguments about the use of one- and two-sided P values and the importance of specifying which are reported in manuscripts.
