Ray matrices are a powerful tool for the analysis of optical systems. In this paper we extend ray matrix techniques to double-grating imaging. The general imaging equation and the lateral magnification are obtained. Two imaging phenomena are analyzed. Several special imaging systems are discussed. The method is simple but mathematically rigorous. |
