Emphysematous changes in the ovary have not been described previously, although a similar process in the vagina, vaginitis emphysematosa, has been well described in the literature. We present a case with emphysematous changes in the ovary of a 38-year-old woman. Patient presented with a right ovarian cyst. Histologically, in addition to the cystic follicles, a portion of the ovary had numerous cystic spaces lined by histiocytes and giant cells resembling alterations previously noted vaginitis emphysematosum.
