Osteoporosis is a serious condition affecting millions of American women after the age of 45 years. Emphasis in women's health care must be directed toward identification of risk factors and preventive measures. Therapeutic intervention for patients with osteoporosis is based on three goals: halting bone loss, remineralizing bone, and minimizing the danger of falling and fractures. |
