We report a patient who successfully underwent a one-and-a-half ventricular repair (1.5 VR) through a right lateral thoracotomy. In the case of possible hazardous complications at the sternal reentry because of previous mediastinitis, this approach was thought to be an option in selected patients to complete a functional correction by means of 1.5 VR.
