Studied the properties of the PMT when used with 102 male cadets of the Australian Army's Officer Training Unit. Internal consistency of the PMT was high, while intercorrelations of the test with other measures in the battery supported the validity of the PMT as a measure of achievement motivation, but indicated its limitation in a practical situation of officer selection. The English version of the PMT would benefit from a rewriting of Items 81 and 88. |
