The author spent many years at Meharry as medical student, resident physician, faculty member, and member of the Board of Trustees. Those roles allowed him to become well-acquainted with six of the eight past presidents: Drs. Turner, Clawson, West, Elam, Lester, and Satcher. He also served as medical director of Hubbard Hospital for a period of six years (1960-1966). |
