The CIE and CIE-UCS color systems are reviewed as background for discussing uniform, color space. Computed luminosities and trichromatic coordinates for various thicknesses of several Corning filter glasses are presented. These data are used to illustrate graphically several tridimensional color spaces, including Wyszecki's proposal for a uniform space using the cube root lightness function and chromaticness indices. In this space the colors for a series of thicknesses of a filter form a skewed line extending from the maximum luminosity point on the achromatic axis through a maximum chromaticness point to the base of the achromatic axis.
