Abstract/OtherAbstract:
This well-rounded meeting brought together scientists from behavioral, molecular and synthetic fields of opioid research. Highlights for this meeting included the genetics of opioid abuse, the use of cDNA microarrays to identify gene expression in response to opiates, how pain can modulate opioid tolerance, and the role of cholecystokinin (CCK) in associative morphine tolerance. Other excellent sessions included discussions on the use of opiates for the treatment of drug abuse, and poster presentations discussing novel opiates for the treatment of inflammatory pain.
