METHOD: The case of a 62 year old man that presented in our outpatient department with features of spondylodiscitis after several attempts at spinal anaesthesia at a rural hospital was reported and the literature reviewed.
RESULT: The patient showed remarkable improvement few days with parenteral antibiotics and made complete recovery subsequently.
CONCLUSIONS: Adequate asepsis is required for spinal anaesthesia and parenteral antibiotics given presumptively following numerous attempts at spinals.
