The Texas Medical Association has an ambitious agenda for the 82nd Texas Legislature, which convenes Jan. 11. Not only does TMA hope to defend Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program from deep cuts, but it also plans to push for additional state funding for residency training and a statewide ban on smoking in public places and to fight off attempts by midlevel practitioners to expand their scope of practice beyond their training. |
