Day case patients may experience minor post-operative unwanted effects which may limit their activity for a day or two and patients should be warned of this. Disturbance in psychomotor function is potentially dangerous if the patient drives a car or operates machinery too soon, so patients need written instructions about this. Time to return to normal mainly depends on duration of anaesthesia rather than the anaesthetic drug used. |
