We demonstrated a facile method for fabrication of source and drain electrodes with very reproducible narrow channel length without any intermediate processing steps. Organoamine-stabilized silver nanoparticles ink enables in situ formation of a hydrophobic boundary around the first printed electrodes, which repels subsequently deposited ink to a consistent distance. Because of this self-alignment nature, small printing errors could be automatically corrected, allowing for large defect-free source drain arrays to be printed with a very narrow distribution of channel length. Furthermore, electrodes printed with this method were used to fabricate OTFT array, showing high yield, high mobility, and on/off ratio. |
