On the centenary of the foundation of the FDI and the fiftieth anniversary of the International Dental Journal, the editor looks at the beginnings of the Fédération. This paper sets out to aid the understanding not only of the early history of the FDI but also the social, scientific and political background against which it was born and nurtured during its tentative, early years. |
