As a kid I dreamed of becoming a professional football player like many other boys. However, without the talent, I had to think of another professional career. After considering many different options while in high school, including becoming an architect, army officer or medical doctor, I finally decided to start a study Biology at the Free University of Amsterdam. After two years I chose to become a medical biologist. Especially the mandatory internships at various research departments were of great interest and made me pursuing a career as biomedical researcher. |
