Percutaneous recanalization of chronic total occlusions (CTOs) is technically challenging and can expose patients to substantial doses of radiation and radiographic contrast. Noninvasive imaging modalities that assist procedural planning, assess risk/benefit ratio and predict technical success are needed. Dual-energy cardiac imaging with adenosine stress has the potential to provide a comprehensive assessment of the coronary anatomy and myocardial perfusion in a single investigation. We demonstrate this technique in planning a case of CTO recanalization via the retrograde approach. |
