Abstract/OtherAbstract:
The Cell Biology Symposium on "Receptors and Signaling" was the third American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) Board-sponsored symposium organized to encourage participation by scientists working in cell biology. The symposium was held at the joint annual meeting of the American Dairy Science Association, Poultry Science Association, Asociación Mexicana de Producción, Canadian Society of Animal Science, and ASAS in Denver, CO, July 11 to 15, 2010. The intent of the symposium was to bring scientists involved in basic physiology and cell biology into ASAS as active participants and provide a platform to increase interactions between basic and applied science. The Cell Biology Symposium Committee chose the role of receptors and signaling processes in the regulation of cell function due to its central role in the member disciplines of the Society. The program was designed to stimulate new thinking in animal science research based on new and emerging concepts in the fields of receptors and signaling.
