A case of asymptomatic right atrial cavernous hemangioma in a 50-year-old man is reported. With right atriotomy under total cardiopulmonary bypass, the right atrial mass was identified as arising from the noncoronary Sinus of Valsalva. The mass was successfully resected with the Sinus of Valsalva closed primarily. The patient is alive and well 9 months following the operation. The incidental discovery of the mass, clinical evaluation, operative procedure, and pathologic findings are reported. We also briefly discuss the epidemiology, natural history, and the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to cardiac tumors. |
