Ambulatory surgery is a field that should be growing; however, its pace has been diminished by some of the problems discussed here. These are only a few of the common problems that ambulatory surgery centers share. Others need to be addressed, not only from the administrator's point of view, but from physicians' and staff members' points of view. The members of the perioperative team must become involved in solving the ambulatory surgery problems. |
