Acute giant gastric volvulus causing cardiac tamponade.

INTRODUCTION: Acute gastric volvulus is an uncommon condition which is rarely associated with cardiac impairment.
DISCUSSION: We report a patient with an acute giant gastric volvulus causing cardiac tamponade. Prompt decompression was unsuccessful and the patient died prior to definitive treatment.
