Youth services would be hit by the biggest cuts to any public
service, a joint survey by Unite and Children & Young People Now has
suggested. The survey indicates that one in four youth services in England face cuts of between 21% and 30%. The survey of 44 local councils was conducted during December 2010 and January. The findings echo a Confederation of Heads of Young People's Services survey of 41 youth service chief executives, which said that 100million [pounds sterling] would be cut from youth service budgets in England by March 2012, leading to the loss of 3000 full-time youth worker jobs. |
