The board is to look at instigating a formal process for reviewing
the performance of the president and kaiwhakahaere, which could be used
to assist improve performance and identify training needs. Current
kaiwhakahaere Kerri Nuku confirmed a performance review template was
endorsed at Te Runanga's recent annual general hui (AGH) and a
review process is now in place. President Nano Tunnicliff will create a
similar template and disseminate it to the board, along with her
position description, for endorsement. NZNO is to instigate "ethnicity checks" with members when they phone NZNO administrators to ensure the accuracy of its database. A member could not attend the AGH as on the database she was incorrectly recorded as non Maori. Business services manager Kevin O'Neill estimates the error rate of the database at around two percent and believes the processes in place to check its accuracy are sufficient but checking ethnicity with callers could provide reassurance. Twenty membership forms received in the July-December 2011 period will be checked against the database for accuracy of the data transferred from the forms. |
