Full Text: NZNO members at the Ranfurly Veterans' Home and Hospital in Auckland will receive a 1.73 percent pay increase following ratification of a new collective agreement last month.

Negotiations were held over two days in early September, with management having a positive attitude. The pay increase on hourly rates, effective from September 8, 2010, applies to registered and enrolled nurses, caregivers, clerical workers and activity officers. The increase brings the starting rate for caregivers at this site to $15.06 an hour.

There was a great turnout at the ratification meeting, with a unanimous vote in favour of the settlement and membership increased to 59.

Ranfurly is a well unionised site with high membership density. I'd like to pay special thanks to the delegate team and all the supporters and to the management team.
