Nursing Council chair Margaret Southwick and chief executive
Carolyn Reed updated the board on upcoming projects, including a review
of me Council's code of conduct, which will include public
consultation, and a review of the postgraduate education framework.
NZNO's chief executive Geoff Annals said, from NZNO's
perspective, there had been a positive change in the Nursing
Council's processes and engagement, and he attributed that to the
chair and chief executive. Reed said it was a pleasure to work with NZNO
and many borders had been removed over the last couple of years. Reed and Southwick also outlined some of the Council's operational projects, including a trial of online applications for annual practising certificates and development of a guideline on professional boundaries, which, after consultation, will be finalised. Canterbury board member Sharon Williams thanked the Council for postponing the random audit of nurses in Canterbury because of the earthquake. It was a huge relief to nurses in the region, she said. |
