The final Regulations for Dental Assistants II in Virginia went
into effect on March 2, 2011. At its March 11, 2011 meeting, the Board
decided to advance an amendment to 18VAC60-20-61 to include pulp capping
in the educational requirements. In the interim, the Board addressed
this requirement by issuing Guidance Document 60-16, Guidance for
Educational Programs for Dental Assistants II.
