The Melanoma Foundation has established the role of melanoma
education nurse, in response to New Zealand's increasing rates of
the disease. Around 2000 people are diagnosed with melanoma each year,
with around 300 dying from melanoma.
Cancer Society liaison nurse Lyn Mourant will take up the new role, which is partially funded by Roche Products, early next month.
