Two people received life memberships at conference--foundation
kaumatua for Te Runanga o Aotearoa NZNO, Hone Ahu (right) and Taranaki
NZNO stalwart Alison Brown (far right).
Ahu accepted his Te Runanga Life membership on behalf of his "nanny and granddad" who brought him up. "They spoke little English, had a tiny house with a mud floor and our fridge was a box hanging from an apple tree. But the love and affection they gave me is still with me today. Thank you to those who nominated me."
Brown said it was a privilege to work for NZNO and "to give huge hours for our colleagues. It is an honour to accept this and I feel completely overwhelmed".
