The second CMOM (Certified Medical Office Manager) class was recently held in Charleston. The class was unique in composition with attendees including both new and experienced office managers, billers, a health plan network management representative and a pharmaceutical representative. The variety of personalities and professions in attendance made for great discussions and networking opportunities.
The PMI (Practice Management Institute) Instructor, Rose Moore, provided not only the textbook instruction, but also "hands on" examples for attendees. Rose kept the attention of the class throughout the four days of instruction.
The nineteen attendees who took the class and sat for the national certification exam must now wait for their exams to be scored and returned. Attendees were unanimous in stating they felt that the course had already been of great benefit to them in their practices. Comments ranged from "class was very beneficial and enjoyable" to "great course that elicited thoughts about practice changes and improvements" to "this will definitely make my practice more efficient and profitable" to "I learned how much I didn't know!"
