Breastfeeding Review Volume 19 No 2, July, 2011 (p 20) The sentence reads, 'There are three types of dehydration associated with diarrhoea; isotonic dehydration (fluid and salts lost in equivalent proportions), hypertonic dehydration (more fluids than salts lost) and hypertonic dehydration (more salts than fluids lost) (Gracey 1999).'
