Full Text: It's hard to believe that 2011 is nearly over. This year has just flown by and 2012 promises to be an exciting time. The Journal would like to extend a warm welcome to the 2011-2012 ADAA Officers and Trustees. Check out our 2011 Annual Session: Las Vegas wrap-up (page 20) for an introduction to the new officers and trustees, as well as a list of award winners and Fellows and Masters. The Journal would also like to welcome the brand new ADAA Student Trustee, Jennifer Broyles, from Citrus College, and a wishes her the best of luck over the coming year. You can read more about this addition to the ADAA Board, as well as about the creation of ADAA Student Chapters and a Student Relations Council, in President Claudia Pohl's article on expanding opportunities for dental assisting students to participate in the association (page 14). Also, President Pohl remembers those who have inspired her over the course of her career and challenges members to guide the next generation of future leaders in dental assisting (page 4) and the U.S. Air Force delegates reminisce over their experience in Las Vegas.

They say "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," but the outpouring of enthusiasm for and dedication to the association on display at Annual Session is sure to extend beyond our time in fabulous Las Vegas. It was a pleasure to see everyone at the meeting. Congratulations for all of your hard work and on a job well done.

Sadly, as soon as Annual Session was over, winter was definitely on its way, and with it, the dreaded cold and flu season. Not to worry, the Journal's annual Infection Control issue features a CE course on how to help prevent the spread of contaminants in the dental office, provided by OSAP (page 30). The course test will also be available online at ADAA's Continuing Education website, www.adaal.com. Also, the Journal presents the conclusion of Dr. Mamoun's two-part series on proper clinical techniques and usage of an HVE attachment (page 6).

The Journal thanks our readers for another wonderful year. Have a happy holiday season and a Happy New Year!
