Many women in the developing world will die unnecessarily from cervical cancer--one of the most preventable and treatable forms of cancer. The guide provides practical, evidence-based information on prevention, detection and treatment of cervical cancer, pain management and palliative care. Aimed at those working at all levels in health care, the authors call for policymakers to use the guide as a basis for introducing effective control programmes for cervical cancer in countries where they are not already in place.
