This book is an analysis of the Barack Obama Administration and the
era it has spawned including the current status of African-Americans,
and Africans due to the steepness of challenges and all Americans who
face substantial challenges in the Obama Era through essays and
spoken-word style poetry. This book is about thinking in the box and out
of the box to come up with solutions to very deep and difficult problems
and issues that unite and divide America and even the world. This is
part 1 of a 2 part series. Part 2 is yet to be written and so too is the
whole story about the Obama era. However the essays and spoken-word
paint a picture of how we are now are at the beginning of the Obama era
in American, and world history. American Challenges in the Obama Era, Part 1 (Kindle Edition, 2010) by Larry Ukali_Johnson-Redd, reviewed by Alice Holman of The RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers. American Challenges in the Obama Era is a call for Black people to unite, to love themselves and each other, to stop killing one another and move forward. He urges our young men to pull up their pants and be kind to Black women. He is very interested in young Blacks getting a good education. He also urges America to pay the reparations that Black people are due after being stolen from Africa, ripped from their family, the middle passage and the horrors of slavery. Parts of the book are prose and parts are wonderful poems that say everything Larry-Ukali Johnson-Redd wishes to pass on to his readers. It is a wonderful book that gives hope in a time that sometimes feels so empty. People are in need and he has suggestions for President Obama to use to get us back on track. For sure it is a must-read book. http://www,amazon,com/American-Challenges-Obama-Part- ebook/dp/B003Y74QP6/ref=sr 1 1?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1282286438&sr=1-1 [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] |
