|Full Text:||MRI of the spine is one of the most frequently requested MR examinations. When considering the prevalence of degenerative spine disease and lower back pain in America's elderly population, the exam is expected to see increased clinical utilization. This article provides a review of several optimized imaging protocols at 3 Tesla field strength and how they are contributing to clinically relevant 3-dimensional volumetric fast spin echo imaging of the spine.|
